 10 Best characters in Hunter x Hunter 

Hello weebs! Today we'll be looking at the 10 best characters in the hunter x hunter anime series. Hunter x Hunter is an anime series whose manga was made by Yoshihiro Togashi back in 1998. The manga gets the anime adaptation on next year and gets a remake in 2011 by studio madhouse.

 There are so many amazing and impressive characters in Hunter x Hunter series so I thought why not pick the 10 best characters and rank them all. All these characters are ranked on basis of my personal opinion. So without wasting any time let's begin... 

10. Illumi Zoldyck 

Illumi Zoldyck, is the oldest son of zoldyck family. He served as a major antagonist throughout the series. He was introduced in the series with the name of Gittaraker but later on he revealed his real identity during hunter exams in front of killua.

He is calm, skilled, intelligent and a personality that a villian needs. Basically he is an opposite character of Itachi, from Naruto. He is also Hisoka's best friend that makes him even more interesting.

9. Feitan 

Feitan is the #2 member of the Phantom troops. Physically he the 5th strongest member of the Phantom troops. He is one of the founding members of the troop belonging from Meteor city. He is a Transmuter expert in torturing people. He is very fast and uses his hand as a weapon to slice opponent's throat. 

Feitan is one of the most interesting character and probably the coolest guy from the troops. His character design is amazing, his personality is amazing and he gives the vibe of Levi from aot. He has a lot of potential but unfortunately series doesn't focused much him that's why he is on the bottom of the list.

8. Knuckles 

Knuckles is a beast hunter who was also the part of chimera ants extermination team. He is an emitter and his ability is known as hakuware. He is Morel's student and shoot's best friend and is known for his brute strength. 

When he was introduced during chimera ants arc then he was shown as a hot head powerful and ruthless hunter but later we get to know how naive he is which is also his biggest weakness but you can't Deni that he is a very entertaining character. He act strong but from inside he is very human and care about others. Despite all that, he is also very intelligent. He is capable of taking decisions due to which he saved the lives of shoot as well as his master, Morel.

7. Gon 

Gon is the main protagonist of the series. He is a 12 year Boy how wants to find his dad as well as want to know why is hunting is so special for his dad. He became a pro hunter at the age of 12 which is incredible. He is an powerful enhancer.

 Like every other Shonen protagonists, he is also very cheerful, energetic positive thinking type guy but in chimera ant arc we've seen his totally different side during the fight with Pito where is losses his control and very brutally killed her. During that time he also forced his body to grow into his adult form which made him a lot stronger but later he returned on his original form.

6. Kurapika 

Kurapika is the last survivor of the kurta clan. He is a blacklist hunter and is currently the Leader of organisation founded by light nostrad. He is an conjurer but when he uses his scarlet eyes then he could use all 5 nen types. 

His character is very much similar to sasuke of Naruto but better in many ways. He almost defeated the Phantom troops on his own. He is smart and his anger is his strength. His main objective was to avange his clan and retrieve all scarlet eyes which he even did in the series. He gave us the best arc of the series that is York New city arc thats why he totally deserve this position.

5. Isaac Netero 

Netero was the 12th chairman of the hunter association and head of the exam commission. In the series he was the strongest human and overall second strongest character in the series after meruem. 

We haven't seen him much in action but whenever he came we all enjoyed it. He is old but still capable of defeating any other character. His ability named 100 type g b in which a golden Buddha statue appear and strike with his hands which not just looks cool but also impossible to beat. 

4. Krollo Lucifer 

Krollo is the leader of the Phantom troops and one of the strongest character in the whole series. He is a specialist type which is a very rare nen type which allows him to steal his opponent's ability. His group members respect him alot and follow all his orders and rules except Hisoka who just wants to fight him. 

Krollo doesn't get much screen time in the whole series but enough to make a likable character. His personality is amazing and character design is even better. He is not afraid of death and unlike other villians he is even ready to sacrifice himself for his team which make him even more interesting and fun to watch character.

3. Hisoka 

Hisoka was the first and one of the major antagonist of the series. He was also a former member of the Phantom troops. He is a Transmuter and named his ability "bungee gum" which possess properties of both rubber and gum. 

He is a creepy, weirdo type of character like orochimaru from Naruto franchise. Just after his appearance he became a fan favourite character due to his looks, mysterious powers and intresting personality. He always seeks for a challenging opponents and even spare and protect the ones who had potentials like he did with gon and killua. He even gets erection when he faces a powerful opponent which is very creepy but all these things are the reason for him to become a fan favourite in the series. 

2. Killua Zoldyck 

Killua is the deuteragonist of the series and the middle child of zoldyck family. He is Gon's bestfriend and also served as a part of chimera ants extermination team. He is a Transmuter and his body is resistant to poison and electricity. Apart from that he is also highly skilled in assassinations. He is also the most liked hunter x hunter character in My Anime List.

When he arrived in the series than his personality was very similar to Gon but later we saw different sides of his character. His powers and abilities are very cool and personality is very interesting. He is also one of the fastest character of the series due to his ability of God speed. He likes challenges and skateboarding and most of the time he remains happy and smiling but when he get pissed then he show no mercy to anyone more like an anti-hero does with his opponents.

1. Meruem 

Meruem is the king of the chimera ants and the main villain of the chimera ant arc. Upon his birth he injured his mother who later died due to excess bleeding and ate his own soilders. He was introduced in the series as an arrogant and ruthless ant who just wants to rule the world but later he turn out to be one of the greatest character of the anime history due to the amazing character development he got. 

As time passes he gets more humble and kind. He became friend with a blind girl who is expert in playing Gunki a board game. He played Gunki with her many times but never tasted victory. He bring her as a means of entertainment but later he got very attached to her which changed his whole character. He was the strongest character in the series and was killed only due to poison.
