 10 Times anime proved it is better than all other industries 

Hello weebs! Tell me, is there any other entertainment industry then that of anime? I believe no! I prefer anime over any other media like hollywood movie or web series etc... And its not just me there are lot of people who think the same that's why today we'll be looking at 9 times when anime proved it is better than all other media industry or simply 9 greatest achievements of anime industry. 

In this article I will mention 9 biggest achievements of anime that is acknowledged by whole world. If you are an anime fan then you must watch this article cause it is very good for your general knowledge.

1. Highest grossing movie in a year. 

In year 2020, when whole film industry was suffering due to pandemic there was one movie that break all records and that movie is none other than Demon Slayer's first movie, Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train. The movie's budget was 15 Million US dollars and grossed over 500 million US dollars making it the highest grossing movie of 2020 and highest grossing anime movie of all time surpassing Spirited Away. It also holds the record of first highest grossing non hollywood movie in a year.

2. IMDB Toppers 

Influence of anime can also be felt on IMDB. If you don't know then IMDB is the most popular rating site for movies, series etc... In IMDB Spirited Away, an anime movie created in 2002 holds the top position of best animated movie with ratings of 8.6/10. The second highest rated animated movie is Lion King which is a Walt Disney product but third place is again held by an anime movie named "Grave of the fireflies". Not just that, Attack on Titan also has several top spots in IMDB like, highest average episode ratings (9.15/10) and having 2 episodes with perfect 10/10 ratings (episode name "hero" and "assault"). Although Both episodes are currently at a ratings of 9.9 but due to number of votes, AOT episode "Hero" holds the record of second highest rated episode of a series followed by American TV show, Braking Bad, episode "Ozymandias". 

3. Topping the Billboard 

In 2021, SiM song, Rumbling hits no.1 spot on Billboard's Hot Hard Rock song chart for continuous two weeks. Rumbling is the opening song of Attack on Titan's final season part 2. Billboard is an American music and entertainment magzine that provides weekly report for top music and songs. It is the first and only anime song to ever hit number one spot on Billboard. This proved that anime industry can also make global hits.

4. Most Printed  Comic Series by One Author Ever. 

For over 25 years, One piece is dominating manga industry and in 2015 One piece hold the Guinness World Record of, "Most Printed Comic Series by One Author". Over these 25 years, One Piece has sold over 490 million copies which is proves the worth of anime industry.

5. Highest-grossing media franchises. 

Pokemon is one of the most known term in this world. Pikachu is one of the most popular fictional character of all time. Pokemon games are one of the biggest game franchise and Pokemon cards are one of the highest selling merchandises. And how can we forget about its super famous anime series. All these things that you read above is the reason that made Pokemon the highest grossing media franchises of all time with net worth of over 110 billion dollars. Highest grossing media franchises means Pokemon worth more then star wars, Mario, Marvel and even Disney and all other entertainment based franchise you can think of.

6. longest running animated TV series 

Many TV series come and go and when it comes to animation then then it happens more frequently. Most animated TV series don't last much longer but some remains with us for generations. You may not know but the longest running animated series is not Mickey mouse or Tom and Jerry but an anime series named Sazae-san which was started in 1969 and is still in production. It has over 9000 episodes and from 53 years it is entertaining the world. Sazae-san also holds a Gunnies world record for longest running animated TV series of all time.

7. Most watched TV show of winter 2020-21 

Attack on Titan is currently one of the biggest name in anime history and its demand is only increasing after every episode but Its demand and popularity break all records when its final season started airing in winters of 2020-2021. At that time Attack on Titan even defeated top Disney shows like Wanda vision. Part 3 of the final season is going to air in 2023 which means more records will break in 2023.

8. Most advanced animated movie ticket sales 

Another feat that Pokemon achieved was in 2008 when Pokemon's 11th movie, Pokémon: Giratina & the Sky Warrior made a record of most advanced ticket sales of an animated movie that is 2,384,198 tickets. It is a feat that even Pixar movies never achieved and this proves that when it comes to animation then anime industry is better than all.

9. Winning the Oscar 

Winning the Oscar is still one of the biggest achievement earned by whole anime industry. In 2003, Spirited Away become the first and the only anime film to win an Oscar award for best animated feature film. Spirited Away is an anime movie created in 2002 by studio Ghibli and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Apart from that, spirited away is also the first hand drawn animated movie to win an Oscar plus the first and only non American animated film to won an Oscar. It was a historic moment and a huge exposure for whole anime industry and this is something that you must not forget.
