5 great and 5 awful deaths in Naruto franchise.
Deaths in the Naruto series are a common thing. Many characters fought ruthless battles for their own reasons which lead to their death. With every loss we feel a different emotion, some makes us sad while some provides us satisfaction. Some characters die without making us feel anything while some are so forgettable that we forget that they even exist. So here's my list for you that will list down some very plain and awfully executed deaths and 5 deaths that were produced with perfection.

Before starting, let me make a few things clear. First, this list will only include those deaths that took place in Naruto or Naruto Shippuden series. All minor characters were excluded in this list. At last, all of these names were chosen by me so it might be different from your expectations, so, if you are not satisfied then comment down the reason. Enough talk, let's begin the list.
Let's go….
5 Awful Deaths in Naruto series
Not all deaths are impactful. Most deaths in Naruto were sad but some were just poorly executed. So let's see deaths in Naruto that are poorly executed.
What if Naruto characters would have given Hunter Exam in place of Chunin exam.
5. Lady Chiyo
Granny Chiyo was one of the elders of the sand village. She played a vital role in the rescue of the Kazekage arc. She is old but strong enough to go against an Akatsuki. Under her guidance, Sakura was able to defeat Sasori which sure is a big achievement. And how can we forget that in the end she was the one who saved Garra. But now you will be thinking what was awful in her death, then basically nothing. There wasn't anything wrong there but I put her there because there wasn't anything great either. Her death was very plain and I personally didn't felt anything, all I cared was that Garra is revived with a jutsu which appeared out of nowhere.
4. Sasori of Red Sand
Sasori was the first original Akatsuki member who died in the series. He fought a great battle against lady Chiyo and Sakura and the way he was answering their every counter attack was so cool. He was starting to become my favourite character but then he lost. He was just introduced in the series and his character was getting interesting and I really wanted to see him more. I wanted to see him crushing his granny and Sakura but that didn't happen. The most badass looking Akatsuki member just died without making much impact on the series was disappointing for me. Sasori's death might not be awful but it was disappointing for sure.
3. Hiruzen Sarutobi the 3rd Hokage
The third hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi made a great sacrifice to save the village from Orochimaru's assault. He fought a devastating battle against his own student. To stop him, Hiruzen used a powerful sealing jutsu which sealed the hands of Orochimaru in return of his life. The fight between Orochimaru and Hiruzen sure was amazing but their final moments were very very slow. Did you remember how many episodes they were in the same position? Everything else was good but due to super slow pacing I will consider it awful.
2. Neji Hyuga
Neji's Death sure was sad and heartbreaking. He was a member of Konaha 11 and his death was tragic and surprising. So why did I put it in category of awful? It's because it shouldn't be happening like that. Naji once was the strongest of all 12 genins. He was strong, had a 360° vision and most importantly known to have the strongest defence. What happened to his ultimate defence at that time? His defence was shattered by just a piece of wood which doesn't make any sense to me. It was awful, there should be a different reason for his death then that.
1. Inoichi & Shikaku
Now this is something about which I can say a lot of negative things. First of all, yes, they are dead, don't go to youtube to search for their death scenes because there really isn't any. Ino-shika-cho 15th consists of Shikaku Nara, Inoichi Yamanaka and Chōza Akimichi. All three of them played very important roles in the 4th Shinobi war but the series didn't do justice to them. A energy bomb launched by ten tails destroyed the command center of Shinobi alliance which results in death of Shikaku and Inoichi and few other Shinobis. Choza was fighting from the frontline that's why he didn't get involved in that blast but Inoichi and Shikaku weren't that lucky but the bad part was that it wasn't even shown properly. It was easily one of the worst executed deaths of an important side character in the history of anime.
5 Great Deaths in Naruto series
The Naruto series was full of emotions and the most emotional moments were the character's deaths of course. So many characters in Naruto died throughout the series but not every death was equal. So let's take a look at 5 Naruto deaths that are executed with perfection.

5. Kisame
Kisame is an underrated character. Just take a look at his looks and personality, he is super cool and badass. He lost his life when he infiltrated in the land of clouds. He was given a task which he performed by sacrificing himself which was totally unexpected. After losing to Guy in a 1v1 he was captured by Bee, Naruto, Guy and Yamato. A leaf Shinobi with the ability to read minds tried to get Intel information about Akatsuki but Kisame broke out from that situation. He was surrounded and had no place to run but instead of selling Intel, he fed himself to sharks he created from his chakra. Even after his death, he fulfilled his mission. His bravery was even acknowledged by Guy and Naruto which is something you can't just ignore. All those scenes were so beautifully created that it earned a spot in this list.
4. Donzo
I didn't put him here because "his death was satisfying" but because his death scene was actually emotional. Before you start writing life threatening comments, read my point. It's true we all hate him because of what he did to Itachi and others but we can't deny the fact that he did all that to protect his village. His ways may be different but he loves his village as much as Itachi does. He didn't just fought with Sasuke for self defence but also to protect his village from his terror. As we all know he used a powerful sealing jutsu in the end to stop the evil plans of Sasuke and Obito which even cost him his life and c'mon his last words and that mini flashback was so heart touching. The Naruto series is not a battle between heroes and villains, it is a series where different people try to bring peace to their World but conflict arises due to difference in paths. Therefore, we can't say that Danzo was purely evil and wrong, he was a hero in his own way. And if you will change your perspective towards him then you can see why he deserves this position in this list.
3. Obito
Obito was the founder of the Akatsuki. He controlled the actions of Nagato while living in the shadows. He took the name of Madara and created fear in the minds of many Shinobis. He declared war against all Nations even though he hated it. He is the character who caused most of the trouble in the series. When he lost his love, he lost his mind and chose the wrong path but he realised all that in the end of the series. Thanks to Naruto's talk-no-jutsu he was able to see the truth. After being betrayed by Madara, he decided to help the Shinobi alliance to stop the war. When Kaguya appeared we saw one of the saddest moments of the series. In order to save Kakashi he threw his life. The exchange of words shown between Kakashi and Obito at that time was very heartwarming.
2. Itachi uchiha
Itachi is probably the most liked character of the series. His back story broke countless hearts but at the time of his death, we don't know much about his past. All we know at that time was that he is a traitor and has done all these to test his limits and to steal Sasuke's eyes and after a fierce battle he lost but as we all know that's not even the half of the story. We have seen him losing twice in the series, first during a fight with Sasuke and second during 4th ninja war. Both deaths are well created and full of emotions but what he didn't do the first time, he did in the second turn and that is making me cry. Oh! That scene when he confessed the truth and said goodbye was very emotional.
1. Jiraiya
Not just in Naruto, Jiraiya's death is considered one of the best and saddest deaths in the whole anime community. I was spoiled about his death even before I started watching the Naruto series but still it was so well created that my eyes got teary. From dialogues to music everything about that scene was iconic. His death also helped in developing the character of Naruto and thanks to it we got to see one of the greatest shonen arcs of all time i.e. Pain Arc.
