2. Zoldyck Family arc (Episodes 22-26) 

Zoldyck Family arc is an unofficial mini arc which consists of only 5 episodes. The arc explores the secrets of the Zoldyck Family. After the end of Hunter Exams, Killua was ordered to visit his home where he gets punished by his mom for running away from home. After knowing all these, Gon along with Leorio and Kurapika came to visit him. 

3. Heavens Arena arc (Episodes 27-36) 

Third arc of the series is Heavens Arena arc in which Gon and Killua take part in a fighting tournament for training and money. In this arc, Gon and Killua learned about nen abilities from master Wing. It was a very important arc as it introduced us to nen and its different natures and kinds. Overall it was a decent arc.

4. YorkNew City arc (Episodes 37-58) 

YorkNew City arc is one of the best arcs of the series. Fans love this arc due to many reasons but the best part was the introduction of the Phantom Troupes. The arc displayed an amazing character development for Krollo, Hisoka and Kurapika and who can forget all the amazing fight scenes shown during the arc. 

5. Greed Island arc (Episodes 59-75) 

The fifth arc of the series ran from episode 59 to 75 and is named after a virtual game of the same name, Greed Island. In this arc Gon and Killua entered in a game created by Gon's dad with help of his friends. The arc introduces us to Biscuit Kruger who also guided the two in becoming stronger. This arc has some great moments like the volleyball match and overall it was a decent arc. 

6. Chimera Ant arc (Episodes 76-136) 

After Greed Island, Chimera Ant arc started which is considered one of the greatest shonen arcs. It was the biggest and the most popular arc of the series. It has many ups and downs and plot twists. The arc is loved by many due to its top tier character development and a dark plot with an unpredictable storyline. The ending of the arc is very beautiful and something which is worth watching. Everything about this arc was great except the pacing. The pacing of the series during the Chimera Ant arc was really horrible but rest was fine.

7. 13th Hunter Chairman Election arc (Episodes 137-148) 

From episode 137 a new Arc started which was created to give conclusion to the previous arc. As the name suggests, in this arc the new chairman of the hunter association was elected. The most part the arc contains political stuff but it wasn't boring, don't worry. It also introduces the Zodiacs for the first time in the series who were basically a group of 13 people appointed by Netero for political matters. This arc gave a beautiful conclusion to the story but also gave an opening for many other adventures which continues in manga. 

Manga arcs 

After completion of the 13th Hunter Chairman Election arc in episode 148, the rest of the story continues in Manga. 

Dark Continent arc (Volume 32-33) 

Dark Continent is a small arc where under the patronage of the Kakin Empire, Netero's son visits a forbidden place called Dark Continent.  

Succession Contest arc (Volume 33-ongoing) 

Succession Contest is the current ongoing arc which is focused on Kurapika. In this arc Kurapika works under eighth Queen, Oito Hui Guo Rou as his bodyguard in order to approach Prince Tserriednich who happens to have the last eyes of his clan.
